ROCKCASTLE, Ky. — Erin Murphy, a Rockcastle County woman, was arrested after allegedly assaulting her mother and threatening her with a kitchen knife.

Police were called to a home on 28 Alley Street in Mount Vernon on July 29 following a report of an assault. Dispatchers said Murphy fled on foot before officers arrived.

The victim told police her daughter was high on meth and pushed her onto a couch, causing severe pain to her shoulder and wrist. The mother also reported that Murphy wielded a knife and made stabbing motions toward her.

Officers later located Murphy near the intersection of Freedom School Road and McKinney Farm Road.

Murphy was charged with fourth-degree assault (domestic violence), second-degree wanton endangerment, first-degree disorderly conduct, and public intoxication (controlled substance).
