OROVILLE, Calif. — A routine traffic stop in Oroville led to the arrest of a Sutter Creek man on drug and weapon charges, according to the Butte County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO).

Around 12:30 a.m. on Monday, August 25, a deputy pulled over a vehicle near Highway 162 and Forbestown Road for a vehicle code violation. The driver was identified as 45-year-old Erik McNabb.

During the stop, another deputy observed open alcohol containers on the front passenger floorboard, which led to a search of the vehicle. Deputies discovered methamphetamine, a glass pipe with meth residue, and a pair of brass knuckles.

McNabb was arrested for possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of brass knuckles. He was booked into the Butte County Jail.
