Meridian Man Arrested in Violent Rape Case from Early July
MERIDIAN, Idaho — Meridian Police have arrested 25-year-old Erik Carrasco Benitez in connection with a violent rape reported earlier this month. The arrest occurred around 2:30 P.M. today near the 100 block of E Broadway Ave.
The incident was initially reported on July 5, when a female victim flagged down law enforcement and disclosed the assault. Detectives launched an intensive multi-week investigation that led to Carrasco Benitez being identified as the suspect.
He was taken into custody without incident and is expected to face formal charges related to the assault.
