Eric Straughan-Ostrosky Arrested for Child Luring in Burlington

Police urge vigilance over online safety for children

by Amelia Crawford

Police in Burlington, Ontario, have arrested a 28-year-old man, Eric Straughan-Ostrosky, on child luring charges. The arrest followed a joint investigation by Halton Regional Police and the Ontario Provincial Police, initiated in July through various social media platforms.

Straughan-Ostrosky was apprehended on October 3 and is facing three counts of child luring and making child pornography. He remains in custody pending a bail hearing.

Authorities expressed concern that there may be additional victims, noting that the accused allegedly operated under the username “KingExplosion” across multiple social media channels.

Police are emphasizing the importance of parents actively monitoring their children’s online activities and discussing internet safety and the risks of sharing personal information.
