BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — Bakersfield police arrested two men Thursday in south Bakersfield following an investigation into alleged fentanyl distribution, including sales to homeless individuals.
According to the Bakersfield Police Department, the Impact Unit arrested Eric Prindle, 55, on Nov. 6, 2025, in the 3400 block of Agate Street. He is accused of possessing and transporting controlled substances.
During the investigation, officers reportedly observed Prindle distributing fentanyl to homeless individuals. This led police to a second location in the 3700 block of McCoury Street, where Johnathan Midkiff, 40, was allegedly seen selling fentanyl and methamphetamine to multiple people.
Both suspects were detained and taken into custody on narcotics-related charges. Authorities said Prindle was found with more than three ounces of crystal methamphetamine and fentanyl. Midkiff was allegedly in possession of more than six ounces of fentanyl and methamphetamine, three stolen firearms, and $690 in cash.
Midkiff also faces prohibited firearm possession charges. Police noted that Prindle had previously been arrested in March during a probation search for drug offenses and violations of Post Release Community Supervision.
The investigation remains ongoing.
