The Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) has arrested Eric Loggins, husband of Richmond County solicitor Omeeka Loggins, following a heated property dispute. Eric Loggins, 53, turned himself in on Friday and faces charges of terroristic threats and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.
The incident occurred on June 30, 2025, when Loggins allegedly threatened an employee of a local surveying company hired by a neighbor. The dispute escalated to the point that Loggins brandished a gun. The outburst, captured on video and widely shared on social media, features a profanity-laden confrontation that has garnered over 115,000 views.
Due to the involvement of the solicitor’s husband, the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office handed the investigation over to the GBI to avoid any conflicts of interest. Omeeka Loggins prosecutes domestic violence cases in the county.
This is not the first time serious allegations have arisen regarding Eric Loggins. In July 2020, Omeeka Loggins filed a temporary protective order against her husband, citing repeated violent threats, including threats to kill her and her parents. The order was later dismissed, and no charges were filed at the time.
The GBI is continuing its investigation into the matter.
