by Sophia Bennett

BAXTER COUNTY — Eric Jerome Harris, 55, pleaded guilty in Baxter County Circuit Court/Criminal Division on November 17 and was sentenced to eight years in prison. A 2023 revocation petition against Harris was dismissed by the state.

Harris was arrested on September 4 for selling methamphetamine to an undercover law enforcement operative during an operation conducted by federal, state, and local agencies. The investigation, launched in 2023 by an Organized Drug Enforcement Task Force, targeted meth sellers in and around the Mountain Home area.

In addition to the September sale, Harris had previously sold 12.5 grams of methamphetamine to an undercover officer in January at a room in the Super 8 Motel. The task force’s operation led to federal cases for five individuals and additional criminal charges for six others in Baxter County Circuit Court.
