Kane County Officials Uncover Criminal Operation at His Home

KANE COUNTY, Ill. – Eric C. Karwowski, 42, of St. Charles Township, is facing multiple felony charges after authorities discovered stolen vehicles, firearms, drugs, and burglary tools at his residence.

The Kane County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant on January 3, 2025, at Karwowski’s home on Badger Court, uncovering a large criminal operation. His arrest followed an investigation initiated when a stolen Mercedes-Benz G550 was tracked to his property.

Charges Against Karwowski:
Aggravated possession of a stolen motor vehicle (4 counts)

Possession of a stolen motor vehicle (3 counts)

Theft (4 counts)

Possession of a firearm by a felon (4 counts)

Possession of a firearm- FOID ineligible (4 counts)

Possession of ammunition by a felon (4 counts)

Unlawful possession of controlled substances (2 counts)

Possession of burglary tools

Firearms (three rifles & one pistol)

Stolen vehicle keys (BMW & Lexus)

VIN-altering equipment (press, stickers, rivets, laser engraver)

Electronic license plate cover & cell phone jammer

12.49 grams of cocaine & 0.99 grams of heroin

Burglary tools & fraudulent vehicle documents

Karwowski turned himself in at the Kane County Sheriff’s Office during the search. A warrant for his vehicle led to additional evidence, including cash in various denominations and electronic devices used for fraud.

He remains detained at the Kane County Jail, with his next court appearance scheduled for February 21, 2025.
