Scottsboro, AL — A routine traffic stop in Scottsboro led to the arrest of a local woman on serious drug charges.

On Tuesday, officers from the Scottsboro Police Department pulled over a vehicle in the 3300 block of Bob Jones Road. During the stop, police discovered approximately 4.7 grams of a methamphetamine and fentanyl mixture, along with a glass pipe.

The driver, identified as 31-year-old Emily Marie Hill of Scottsboro, was taken into custody without incident. She was charged with Drug Trafficking and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Hill was initially booked into the Scottsboro City Jail and later transferred to the Jackson County Jail, where her bond was set at $56,000. She has since been released.

Authorities continue to emphasize the dangers of fentanyl and its increasing presence in street-level narcotics.
