CALLAWAY, Md. – A 39-year-old Loveville man, Elvis Tyrell Frederick Jr., is in custody and being held without bond after a violent domestic dispute on July 31, 2025, that left a woman injured and resulted in the theft of two iPhones, including one belonging to a child.
According to the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office, the incident occurred at a residence in Callaway, where the female victim had been giving Frederick a ride. When she refused to give him money, he allegedly became violent, striking her repeatedly in the face, resulting in a bloody nose, a torn earlobe, and visible facial swelling.
As the woman attempted to call for help using her iPhone 15+, Frederick allegedly snatched the phone from her and continued the assault, threatening to kill her. The victim then shouted for her 7-year-old son, who was inside the home, to contact a relative. Frederick allegedly took the child’s iPhone 16 before fleeing the scene.
The two stolen iPhones were valued at approximately $1,600.
An arrest warrant was issued, and Frederick was taken into custody on August 6. He faces multiple charges, including:
Robbery (felony)
Second-degree assault
Felony theft ($1,500 to under $25,000)
Robbery is a serious felony offense in Maryland, carrying a maximum penalty of 15 years in prison.
During a bail review hearing on August 7, a judge ordered Frederick to be held without bond at the St. Mary’s County Detention Center. His trial is scheduled for September 15, 2025.
