PALM BEACH GARDENS, FL — A quiet night in the upscale PGA National community turned tragic early Friday morning when Ellis Lee, 24, called 911 to report he believed his father was not breathing following a violent disturbance at their home.

The Palm Beach Gardens Police Department responded to the residence at 20 Glencairn Road in the Burwick neighborhood shortly after 12:56 a.m.

Upon arrival, officers found Ellis Lee outside in the driveway and discovered his father, David Lee, 64, with fatal injuries inside the home. David Lee was the president of the HOA in the Burwick neighborhood.

Ellis Lee was arrested and charged with murder in connection to his father’s death. Police have not yet released details regarding the motive, method, or weapon involved.

Neighbors expressed shock at the incident, describing the community as peaceful and safe. One neighbor suggested that mental health issues might have played a role.

The investigation remains ongoing, and further information is expected after Ellis Lee’s initial court appearance, likely to be held soon.
