NORTH VERNON, Ind. — A Seymour man was arrested last week in connection with a home burglary in North Vernon. Elijah Hubbard, 24, faces preliminary charges of burglary (Level 4 Felony) after prescription pills were stolen from a residence in the Country Squire Lakes area.

The Jennings County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO) responded to the scene after homeowners reported the burglary. Deputies conducted a walk-through of the home and confirmed that multiple prescription pills had been stolen. Security camera footage from nearby neighbors helped identify the suspect. The video showed a white car pulling up to the house, a male subject exiting, and walking to the back of the residence. About five minutes later, the male was seen running back to the car and driving off.

The vehicle was recognized by the victims and their friends, and the car’s owner/license plate information led deputies to an address in Seymour. While en route to interview the suspect, deputies found the vehicle parked in a Jackson County field and towed it from the scene.

After questioning Hubbard at his Seymour address, law enforcement took him into custody. He was transported back to Jennings County and booked into the jail.
