Elijah Del Rio and Charvince Hoopii Arrested in Maui Car Theft Case

Del Rio, 22, remains wanted for vehicle theft accomplice role

Maui police have made arrests in connection with a car theft incident that occurred on January 24, 2025. Charvince Hoopii, 18, was arrested without incident on Monday, February 10, on a warrant for Unauthorized Entry into a Motor Vehicle (UEMV). Hoopii is accused of entering a Toyota truck on the day of the theft.

Maui Police Department (MPD) officials are still actively searching for 22-year-old Elijah Del Rio, who is wanted on a UEMV warrant related to the same incident. Del Rio is believed to be driving a 2010 Honda Civic with the license plate LHF-020, and he is thought to be in the Haiku and Wailuku areas of Maui.

The public has been urged to assist law enforcement by reporting any information about Del Rio’s whereabouts. Anyone with information is asked to contact Maui police at 808-214-6400.
