Elias John Gregory Arrested for Child Exploitation in Georgia

GBI Investigation Leads to Arrest in Online Child Abuse Case

by Amelia Crawford

STATESBORO, Ga. – Authorities have arrested 46-year-old Elias John Gregory on charges of sexual exploitation of children, according to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI).

The GBI’s Child Exploitation and Computer Crimes (CEACC) Unit launched an investigation into Gregory’s online activity in July 2024. The probe was initiated following a Cyber Tipline Report from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC), which flagged possible possession and distribution of child sexual abuse material.

Arrest and Ongoing Investigation
With assistance from the Bulloch and Bryan County Sheriff’s Offices, investigators arrested Gregory, who was then booked into the Bulloch County Jail.

The GBI stated that this arrest is part of a larger operation by the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force, aimed at identifying individuals involved in the online exchange of child sexual abuse material.

Authorities urge anyone with information related to this case to contact the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.
