CADDO PARISH, LA – A woman was arrested in Caddo Parish after leading law enforcement on a high-speed car chase, which resulted in injuries to multiple officers.
Elease Williams, 46, was taken into custody following a series of events that began with a suspected shoplifting incident at Elsie’s Truck Stop on Louisiana Highway 1. Blanchard police received a call about the suspected theft around 3 p.m. on Tuesday, April 2. Upon arriving at the scene, officers saw Williams enter a white SUV and attempted to stop her.

The chase ended when Williams crashed into a CPSO patrol car at the intersection of Highway 1 and Interstate 49.
Williams was arrested without further incident and booked into the Caddo Correctional Center on several charges, including aggravated second-degree battery, aggravated flight from an officer, aggravated assault with a motor vehicle upon a police officer, and aggravated obstruction of a highway or commerce.
The Blanchard police officer who was dragged was transported to Ochsner LSU Hospital for treatment of moderate injuries. The CPSO deputy involved in the crash was taken to Willis Knighton North for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
