Eight people have been arrested in Pearland in connection with an organized retail theft operation that allegedly targeted multiple stores across the Houston area.
According to the Pearland Police Department, the suspects are accused of stealing more than $20,000 worth of merchandise from various retailers in Pearland and surrounding communities.
The investigation began on Nov. 30, 2025, after three female suspects were identified in connection with a theft at an Academy Sports and Outdoors store in Pearland. As detectives continued their investigation, they determined the same individuals were involved in similar thefts at multiple Academy Sports and Outdoors locations throughout the region.
Authorities said further investigation uncovered a broader theft network involving eight suspects, including five family members. The group is accused of targeting several major retailers, including Academy Sports and Outdoors, Dick’s Sporting Goods, Macy’s, JCPenney, Burlington, TJ Maxx, and HomeGoods.
After approximately two months of investigation, officers were able to identify and confirm the involvement of all eight suspects, who are alleged to have stolen merchandise and resold the items for quick cash.
Last week, investigators executed three residential search warrants, recovering more than $20,000 worth of stolen merchandise.
