FLORENCE, S.C. — A coordinated narcotics operation across Florence County on Wednesday resulted in multiple arrests, drug seizures, and the recovery of weapons and drug manufacturing equipment, according to the Florence County Sheriff’s Office.
Eight individuals were arrested in separate locations during the ongoing investigation.
At 401 Chompers Court, Allen Shante Onsanya Daniels was taken into custody and charged with distribution of narcotic drugs, possession of marijuana, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Between May 13 and May 23, Daniels allegedly sold fentanyl to a confidential informant.
Simultaneously, a narcotics search warrant was executed at 2404 South Purvis Drive, where Paige Evie Hyatt, Sid Anthony Hughes, Brian Alexander Player, Keith Allen Leek, and Amy Leigh Goodman were arrested. Authorities recovered approximately 45 grams of methamphetamine and 3.5 grams of fentanyl. All five suspects were charged with trafficking methamphetamine and possession with intent to distribute fentanyl.
Elsewhere, on Chinaberry Road, Kevin Dewayne Paige Jr. was arrested and charged with distribution of fentanyl, possession of fentanyl, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Investigators also seized marijuana, pills, and two weapons during the arrest.
Dexter Lemont Crawford was arrested at the Econo-Lodge and charged with distribution of cocaine and possession of contraband in a detention center. Authorities say Crawford sold cocaine to a confidential informant and was found with cocaine hidden in a body cavity during booking at the Florence County Detention Center.
A separate search took place in Darlington County at a residence on Cotton Patch Road, led by Florence County investigators and the Darlington County Combined Drug Unit. This raid uncovered a significant quantity of fentanyl, methamphetamine, crack cocaine, heroin, marijuana, and pills, along with five firearms, a 2017 Dodge Ram pickup, two commercial pill presses, and an undisclosed amount of U.S. currency. Jadyn Summerford and Eric Best were arrested and remain in custody in Darlington County.
All suspects arrested in Florence County are currently being held at the Florence County Detention Center, awaiting bond hearings. Authorities say the investigation is ongoing, and additional arrests and charges may follow.
