Operatives from the Kaduna Zonal Directorate of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) have arrested Saifullahi Ismail on suspicion of involvement in an employment fraud scheme. Ismail was detained in the Abakpa New Extension area of Kaduna on April 30, 2025, after credible intelligence linked him to fraudulent activities related to job placements.

Ismail, who works as a technician with the Kaduna Electric Distribution Company, is accused of conspiring with his accomplice, Halima Yakubu Ngulde, to collect money from job seekers under the false promise of securing positions with various Nigerian government agencies, including the Nigeria Police Force, Nigeria Army, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), and the EFCC.

Ngulde had been arrested in November 2024 by the EFCC for her role in the scam, but Ismail had evaded capture until recently. Upon his arrest, investigators recovered a forged letter of employment allegedly issued by the EFCC.

Ismail will be charged in court once the investigation is concluded.
