CEDAR CITY, Utah — Police have arrested three more suspects in connection with a large-scale theft operation targeting a local Home Depot, bringing the total number of people charged in the case to eight.
The latest arrests include Edgardo Duque, 43, his wife Yojana Ester Garcia Rojop, 31, and their 18-year-old son, Andy Jouse Garcia Rojop. All three were booked into the Iron County Jail on felony charges following an ongoing investigation by Cedar City Police.
The case stems from a March 6 search warrant executed at a rural residence, where officers reportedly discovered more than $47,000 worth of stolen merchandise, most of it still in original packaging. Investigators also found a safe containing a large amount of cash, two firearms, and suspected methamphetamine.
According to affidavits, Andy Rojop admitted the drugs in the safe belonged to him and acknowledged being present during at least two incidents where items were taken from the store without payment. However, other witnesses told police he was aware of the thefts at the time. He has been charged with possession of stolen property, a second-degree felony.
Duque and Yojana Rojop are each charged with second-degree felony theft and possession of a dangerous weapon by a restricted person, after allegedly knowing about both the drugs and stolen goods stored at their residence.
The initial five suspects—identified as Marco Antonio Rivera-Hernandez, Franklin Fernando Garcia-Diaz, Rey Alexander Santos, Nehemias Josue Zapet-Maldonado, and Sindy Cabrera—were arrested earlier in the investigation.
Authorities allege all eight suspects were connected through employment with a company linked to the residence. All remain held without bail, each with an immigration detainer.
The investigation is ongoing, and officials say additional details may emerge as the case proceeds.
