ARCHDALE, N.C. (WGHP) — A 50-year-old man has been arrested in Archdale after being accused of distributing child sexual abuse material, according to the Invictus Task Force.
The arrest follows a February 2025 tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC), which prompted an investigation into online activity in the Piedmont Triad region. Authorities later identified Earl David Rivers as the suspect.
On May 2, investigators executed a search warrant and took Rivers into custody at his residence. He now faces six counts of second-degree sexual exploitation of a minor and is being held on a $350,000 secured bond.
Court documents allege that Rivers was electronically distributing images and videos depicting underage girls. Authorities say the investigation is ongoing and more charges may follow.
The Invictus Task Force continues to work with state and federal agencies to identify and prosecute individuals involved in child exploitation crimes.
