Dwayne Richard Arrested After Canada-Wide Warrant Issued

Saint John man caught after breaching statutory release

Saint John, N.B. – Dwayne Richard, a 30-year-old man wanted on a Canada-wide warrant, has been arrested by the Codiac RCMP.

The Saint John Police Force had issued the warrant on July 20 after Richard allegedly breached the conditions of his statutory release by failing to report to the Parrtown Community Correctional Centre as directed.

Richard is currently serving a federal sentence of two years and one day for multiple convictions, including:

Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000

Assault with a weapon

Extortion

Failure to comply with an undertaking

Failure to attend court

Authorities located and arrested him on August 17, ending a weeks-long search.
