STAR, N.C. — A Moore County man is facing a long list of felony charges after authorities discovered drugs, firearms, and animal fighting equipment at his home in the Star community.
According to Moore County Sheriff Ronnie Fields, the arrest came after deputies joined Probation and Parole officers in a probation search at a residence on Edward Road on August 14. The initial search revealed enough evidence to prompt detectives to obtain a search warrant for the property.
During the search, investigators seized:
Suspected methamphetamine and amphetamine
Drug paraphernalia
Game fowl steroids
Animal fighting paraphernalia
Firearms
More than $2,900 in cash
The suspect, Dustin Brady, 39, of Star, was taken into custody and now faces multiple serious charges, including:
Trafficking methamphetamine by possession
Possession with intent to sell and deliver methamphetamine
Possession of a Schedule II controlled substance
Felony possession of a Schedule II controlled substance
Maintaining a vehicle or dwelling for controlled substances
Possession of a Schedule III controlled substance
Possession of drug paraphernalia
Five counts of possession of a firearm by a felon
Four counts of possessing animal fighting paraphernalia
Brady was booked into the Moore County Detention Center under a $750,000 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in Moore County District Court on September 3.
Authorities emphasized that all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
