WASHINGTON, D.C. (WJHL) — Dusan Dimic, 41, of Virginia, has been sentenced to more than three years in federal prison for his role in operating a narcotics delivery service primarily targeting Washington, D.C. The sentence was handed down on February 28, 2025, following an investigation into his involvement in drug trafficking.
The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Columbia reported that the investigation began in August 2022, targeting individuals using Zipcars, rental cars, and personal vehicles to transport and distribute illegal drugs. Dimic’s co-conspirator conducted 14 controlled drug purchases with the assistance of Dimic, who either drove the vehicle or coordinated drivers for the transactions.
During the operations, Dimic typically remained in the driver’s seat while his co-conspirator sat in the front passenger seat, and the undercover officer occupied the rear seat. The transactions generally took place on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays between 5 p.m. and 9 p.m., according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
Dimic’s role in the operation was confirmed when Zipcar records showed his name and credit card information associated with rentals used in the narcotics delivery scheme. On days he did not drive, Dimic facilitated the logistics for his co-conspirator by providing drivers for the transactions.
The investigation culminated in the arrest of Dimic and his co-defendant on September 21, 2023, during which authorities seized 90 grams of cocaine, $2,304.51 in cash, and a significant quantity of narcotics from Dimic’s co-defendant, including 483 grams of cocaine and 90 grams of methamphetamine pills.
Dimic’s sentencing serves as a reminder of the serious consequences of engaging in the distribution of illegal narcotics. His actions have led to a lengthy federal sentence, reinforcing the commitment of law enforcement agencies to dismantle drug trafficking operations in the D.C. area.
