Drug Peddler Arrested in Samba with 5.7 Grams of Heroin

Samba Police continue crackdown on drug trafficking, arrest Deepak Sharma.

In its continued fight against drug trafficking, Samba Police arrested a drug peddler in the Bari Brahmana area and seized 5.7 grams of heroin (Chitta) from his possession. The arrest was made based on reliable intelligence and was part of a broader effort to curb drug smuggling in the region.

The police team, led by the Station House Officer (SHO) of Bari Brahmana, intercepted a car with registration number JK19-0754 near Lane Number 15 in Bari Brahmana for a routine check. Upon searching the vehicle, they found 5.7 grams of heroin with the driver.

The arrested drug peddler was identified as Deepak Sharma, a resident of Ambaran Tehsil, Akhnoor District, Jammu. Following his arrest, the contraband item was seized, and a case was registered against him under sections 8/21/22/25 of the NDPS Act (Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act) at Police Station Bari Brahmana.

The operation was carried out under the supervision of SSP Samba, Virinder Manhas, and the investigation into the matter has begun.
