Drug Peddler Arrested in Budgam, Charas Seized by Police

Police Recover 270 Grams of Charas from Suspect in Budgam

In a continued effort to tackle the growing drug menace, the Budgam Police have arrested a drug peddler, Sajad Muzaffar Ahmad Dar, and seized a significant quantity of contraband substances from his possession.

A police team from the Police Station Chadoora, stationed at a checkpoint near the Higher Secondary School Zohama, intercepted Sajad Muzaffar Ahmad Dar, a resident of Surasyar Chadoora. Upon conducting a search, the officers discovered 270 grams of Charas sticks hidden in his possession.

The police promptly arrested the suspect, and a case has been registered under FIR No. 72/2025 at the Police Station Chadoora. The investigation into the matter has already commenced.

In a public statement, the police urged residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity related to drug peddling. The statement read, “We urge the common masses that if you witness drug peddling or any other crime anywhere near you, feel free to contact the nearest police establishment or dial 112. People are requested to cooperate with the police in curbing the menace of drugs from society. We reassure the community that the police will act tough against criminals as per the law.”
