A 27-year-old man, identified as Prince, was arrested in Bhuj, Gujarat, for allegedly stealing Rs30 lakh from his employer in Delhi’s Tilak Nagar area, police said on Friday.
Prince, a resident of Chander Vihar, had been working as a personal driver for the complainant over the past six months. On May 15, he reportedly absconded with Rs30 lakh that was part of a business transaction.
Following the complaint, a case was promptly registered at Tilak Nagar police station. Deputy Commissioner of Police (West), Vichitra Veer, confirmed that a special team was formed to investigate the case.
“The team examined CCTV footage and launched raids across potential hideouts in Delhi. Using both manual intelligence and technical surveillance, the suspect was tracked down to Bhuj,” said DCP Veer.
A police team was dispatched to Gujarat, where Prince was arrested. Authorities recovered ₹26 lakh in cash and gold jewellery valued at Rs1.5 lakh from him. He has been formally charged with theft under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code, and further investigation is underway.
