Erode Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Unit (Erode Detachment) has arrested two officials of the District Rural Development Agency (DRDA) for allegedly accepting a bribe of ₹3 lakh from a contractor.
The officials, identified as engineer Sekar and field overseer Suresh Mani, were apprehended on Friday night while receiving the bribe. Suresh Mani is responsible for monitoring the implementation of DRDA projects and schemes at the field level.
The DRDA office operates from the fourth floor of the Collectorate building. Officials confirmed that further investigation is underway to trace additional parties involved and examine related transactions.
