BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC) – Dr. Terrell Brown, principal of Center Point High School, has been placed on administrative leave following his arrest on a domestic violence charge in Mobile, Alabama.
The Mobile Office of Public Safety reported that the incident took place on June 9, 2025, at the Riverview Plaza Hotel in downtown Mobile. The victim filed a police report on July 17.
Jefferson County Schools Superintendent Dr. Walter Gonsoulin confirmed that Brown is on administrative leave with pay, in accordance with standard district procedures.
“We have been made aware that Center Point High School Principal, Dr. Terrell Brown, is facing a misdemeanor charge. I am not at liberty to discuss the specifics concerning the alleged incident, except to say that it did not involve any students, faculty, or staff and occurred off campus,” said Gonsoulin.
He emphasized that administrative leave does not imply guilt, and the district is cooperating with the ongoing legal process. Meanwhile, the school’s three assistant principals will serve as the primary points of contact for school-related matters.
The case remains under investigation.
