31-year-old Richard Dean Jordan, a doctor residing in the Bethlehem Community but listing a Hickory address, was arrested on Friday (April 4) by Alexander County Sheriff’s Officers. Jordan is facing four counts of felony second-degree sexual exploitation of a minor. The charges stem from the alleged downloading of child pornography, according to Alexander County Sheriff Chad Pennell.
Jordan has been a staff member at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center since 2024, according to the medical center’s website. However, attempts by WACB to reach Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center for comments on the matter have yet to be successful.
Following his arrest, Jordan was placed in the Alexander County Detention Center with a secured bond set at $1,550,000. His District Court appearance is scheduled for today (April 7) in Taylorsville.
