A Chief Magistrate Court in Bwari, Abuja, has issued an arrest warrant for Dr. Bright Echefu, the chief executive of Briech Intelligence Fusion Limited, following allegations of a $651,280 fraud. Echefu is accused of defrauding BCG NEEDS Company by falsely promising to supply drones and accessories.

The court ordered that Disu Olatunji, the Commissioner of Police for the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), take immediate action to apprehend Echefu and his company. In addition to his role at Briech Intelligence Fusion, Echefu is also the managing director of Telecom Satellite Television.

Previous Legal Issues

This arrest order comes after the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) previously arraigned Echefu at the Federal High Court for charges related to tax evasion, money laundering, and advanced fee fraud.

Judge Okechikwu John Akweke issued the arrest order after a motion was filed by John Paul Eze Esq. of O. J. Law Consult. The court’s decision, in accordance with Section 113 of the Administration of Criminal Justice Act 2015, compels Echefu and his company to appear before the court.

The arrest of Dr. Bright Echefu marks a significant step in addressing corporate fraud and financial misconduct in Nigeria.
