The Hyderabad Commissioner’s Task Force, Khairtabad Zone, in coordination with Musheerabad police, arrested two individuals involved in drug peddling and seized 367 grams of hash oil during a raid.
The operation, conducted near Risalagadda, Musheerabad, led to the arrest of Dovari Jyothi Ratna Pradeep (34), a resident of Guntur, Andhra Pradesh, India, who was allegedly delivering hash oil to a consumer, Vijay Kumar (46). Police recovered 53 small plastic container sachets of the narcotic substance.
Modus Operandi
During interrogation, Ratna Pradeep admitted that he and his associate, Shaik Mahaboob Basha, procured hash oil in bulk for Rs50,000 per litre from Tambeli Chatrapati Tirupati, Visakhapatnam. They then repacked the narcotic into 5-gram containers, selling each for Rs2,000–Rs2,500 to consumers.
One of the consumers, Vijay Kumar, purchased a container for Rs2,000. The accused reportedly maintained contact details of all buyers and coordinated sales via conference calls.
Background
Pradeep had migrated from Guntur to Hyderabad and resided with Mahaboob in Balaji Nagar. He allegedly turned to drug trafficking due to financial difficulties.
Authorities noted that Pradeep was previously arrested in 2022 by the Prohibition and Excise Station, Guntur, in a hash oil case. Vijay Kumar had also been arrested in a 2022 case registered under the NDPS Act.
The arrested individuals, along with the seized hash oil, have been handed over to Musheerabad police for further investigation.
