The Washington County Sheriff’s Office (WCSO) announced the arrest of 61-year-old Douglas Brion Sullivan of Waterford in connection with the fatal overdose of Danaus Michael Rohrer, 25, on December 15, 2023. Sullivan faces involuntary manslaughter charges, a first-degree felony.
Sullivan was taken into custody Thursday and booked into the Washington County Jail after an arrest warrant was issued the previous day.
Investigation Leads to Arrest
Rohrer was found dead at his home in Waterford Township after overdosing on a combination of fentanyl and methamphetamine. The investigation into his death led to Sullivan over a year later. Deputies tracked the illegal substances responsible for Rohrer’s death back to Sullivan.
When officers located Sullivan at his residence on Johnson Ridge Road in Waterford on Thursday, he cooperated with the investigation and admitted to providing Rohrer with the narcotics prior to his fatal overdose. Sullivan has a history of drug-related arrests, including charges for illegal drug possession in 2020 and 2021.
Legal Ramifications
Sullivan acknowledged his actions, expressing that he knew what he had done was wrong. He is currently being held in the Washington County Jail with a bond set at $150,000 plus personal recognizance. His formal hearing is scheduled for next week.
This arrest highlights the serious consequences associated with drug distribution and the role individuals can play in the growing opioid epidemic. Sullivan’s case will continue to unfold in the coming weeks, and law enforcement has vowed to provide further updates.
