LARGO, Fla. – A Pinellas County Schools bus driver has been arrested on multiple child pornography charges, according to the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office.
The suspect, 35-year-old Donte Burney, is accused of possessing numerous explicit images of children. Detectives state the images depict minors ranging from one to eleven years old.
The investigation was led by the Crimes Against Children Unit, who began looking into the case after receiving information that child sexual abuse material was being accessed and distributed online.
Following the investigation, Burney was charged with 20 counts of Possession of Child Pornography and was booked into the Pinellas County Jail.
Authorities have not yet released details regarding his employment status with the school district or whether any local children were involved.
