SAN JOSE, Calif. – The San Jose Police Department announced the arrest of four teenagers in connection to a gang-motivated vandalism and theft incident involving a park sign at Nisich Park.
The suspects—Donner Sosa and Michael Reyes, both 18, along with a 15-year-old and a 13-year-old, all San Jose residents—were arrested on May 1. The charges stem from a January 5 incident where the group allegedly stole and destroyed a Nisich Park sign while shouting gang-related threats.
According to police, surveillance and witness evidence showed the group using a handheld saw to cut down the sign before fleeing with it. The department’s Gang Investigations Unit led the identification and arrests of the suspects.
Sosa and Reyes were booked into the Santa Clara County Main Jail, while the 15- and 13-year-olds were taken to Juvenile Hall. All four face charges of gang-motivated vandalism and grand theft.
Police continue to emphasize the importance of community awareness and reporting suspicious activity, especially in areas impacted by gang-related crimes.
