STRONGSVILLE, OH (WOIO) — A 27-year-old man is in custody after allegedly attempting to abduct a 15-year-old girl as she waited for her school bus early Friday morning.
According to the Strongsville Police Department, the incident occurred around 6:40 a.m. on Fair Road. The teen reported that a man approached her and tried to grab her while she was waiting at the bus stop. Fortunately, she managed to pull away and run back to her home to alert her parents and authorities.
Police quickly responded and launched an investigation in the area. Officers located a suspect at a residence approximately a quarter mile from the incident. The man was identified as Dominic Anthony Sacco, 27, who was positively identified by the victim.
Sacco was arrested and taken into custody at the Strongsville Police Department, where he now faces abduction charges.
In a statement, the Strongsville Schools Superintendent praised the teen’s quick thinking and the rapid response from law enforcement:
“Thanks to her courage and the swift response of the Strongsville Police Department, the man was identified and arrested. As both a superintendent and a father, I am deeply concerned by this incident.”
The statement also encouraged families to discuss safety awareness with their children, emphasizing preparedness without creating fear.
