ALACHUA COUNTY, Fla. — Dominic J. DeGrego, 25, and Hannah Elizabeth Hofmann, 24, were arrested and charged with grand theft of a vehicle after stealing a red Bronco from Lake County.
On September 20, the Lake County Sheriff’s Office alerted the Alachua County Sheriff’s Office (ASO) about the stolen vehicle pinging near Newnans Lake. An ASO deputy found the Bronco at a home where DeGrego and Hofmann were present.
DeGrego initially denied knowledge of the vehicle, but Hofmann admitted that both had stolen the Bronco. She also said they were under the influence of meth when they took the vehicle.
Both suspects have prior prison records; DeGrego was released from prison in May 2025 after serving time in multiple counties, while Hofmann was released in February 2025 after serving sentences related to grand theft of vehicles.
Judge Sheree Lancaster set bail at $75,000 for DeGrego and $50,000 for Hofmann.
