Badnapur police in Jalna district have arrested Dnyaneshwar (28) and Manisha (25) in connection with the murder of Manisha’s husband and Dnyaneshwar’s elder brother, Parmeshwar Ram Tayade (30). Parmeshwar’s decomposed body was recovered from Vala-Somthana lake in Badnapur tehsil on November 12.
Investigations revealed that the murder occurred after Parmeshwar objected to an alleged illicit relationship between his younger brother and wife. Parmeshwar, a resident of Somthana village, went missing on October 15, prompting a missing person complaint by his father, Ramnath Tayade (56), on October 20.
Jalna Superintendent of Police Ajaykumar Bansal stated, “The completely decomposed body of the victim was found on Wednesday, and within 24 hours, our teams arrested the accused duo on murder charges. They were remanded in three-day police custody.”
Ramnath Tayade said that when he inquired about his son, Manisha claimed Parmeshwar had gone to Rajasthan. Suspicious after his son’s phone remained unreachable, Ramnath filed a complaint with Badnapur police. On November 12, villagers discovered a decomposed body near Vala-Somthana lake and alerted authorities.
Police noted that despite the severe decomposition, Parmeshwar’s “Chhatrapati” tattoo and the t-shirt he wore when he went missing confirmed his identity. Preliminary investigations indicated that Parmeshwar was attacked in the early hours of October 15. The accused allegedly struck him on the head and face with an axe, killing him on the spot. They then wrapped the body in a plastic cattle-feed sack, tied it with ropes, added stones, and dumped it in the lake.
Police confirmed that Manisha and Dnyaneshwar were in an illicit relationship and that quarrels with Parmeshwar over the affair escalated to the murder.
