London-based DJ faces trafficking charges after luxury villa raid

Greece, January 2025 (WABI) – London-based DJ Mikaela Jav, also known as Izzat Khanim Javadova, was arrested in Greece on December 30, accused of organizing a drug-fueled party at a luxury villa in Kalyvia Thorikou, near Athens. Authorities reportedly seized 45 packages containing ecstasy, cocaine, crystal meth, LSD, xanax, and other drugs, alongside over €43,000 in cash.

Javadova, 44, who denies the charges, argued that she did not organize the event and claimed the party, described as a “Tekno Berlin kinky party,” was focused on love and music. She suggested the accusations were an attack on LGBTQ people, as they painted attendees as drug users.

This is not the first time Javadova has been involved in legal matters. In 2021, she and her husband agreed to surrender £4 million related to a money-laundering scandal. Javadova is linked to a powerful Azerbaijani family, with connections to President Ilham Aliyev.

In addition to Javadova, 12 others were arrested during the raid, including three corrupt police officers hired to provide security for the event. Javadova’s luxury lifestyle includes properties across Azerbaijan, Ibiza, and London, as well as ownership of a dance music label.
