Dispur police swiftly cracked an attempted robbery case near Rahman Hospital on VIP Road, Six Mile, arresting two suspects, Mukul Laxman (21) and Aditya Kumar Benual (21), both residents of Ambedkar Nagar. The duo was caught after wrongfully restraining a Scorpio vehicle (AS01GA3883) late at night, and police apprehended them within an hour of the incident.
In another incident, Dispur police arrested Deepak Das of Jonai after recovering three stolen mobile phones from him near Khanapara.
Meanwhile, a team from Fatashil Ambari police station arrested three burglars—Bhaskar Das (19) from Narengi, Manjit Das (18) of Silpukhuri, and Nayan Barman (18) of Lalganesh. The police recovered six stolen mobile phones from their possession.
Further probing a theft case, the Basistha police busted a cross-border mobile phone racket in Kaldowa Part III, Agomoni (Dhubri). Two habitual receivers, Sahajmal Ali (30) of Dhubri and Tahinur Haque (29) of Tufanganj (West Bengal), were arrested, and police seized 10 stolen mobile phones.
Investigations continue to uncover more suspects and connections involved in these thefts.
