In a significant drug bust, Dispur Police raided a hideout at Narakasur Pahar, Kahilipara, and seized 50.456 kg of ganja along with Rs11,150 in cash. Shantanu Kar (29) was arrested in connection with the drug trafficking operation. Police have initiated legal proceedings against him.
In a separate operation, Gorchuk Police arrested two individuals suspected of being involved in the illicit drug trade. The suspects, identified as Ravi from Bhojpur, Bihar, and Abhisek Kumar from Patna, were apprehended during a search of their luggage. The police discovered 23 packs of ganja, weighing a total of 20.6 kg. The contraband was seized, and legal action has been initiated against the duo.
Both operations were carried out following intelligence inputs and demonstrate ongoing efforts by the Assam Police to crack down on drug trafficking in the region.
