Police in K. K. Nagar on Monday arrested a 25-year-old food delivery executive, identified as Dinesh, on charges of murdering a security guard following a quarrel at an apartment complex.
The victim, Velmurugan (47), was employed as a security guard at an apartment building on Vembuliyamman Koil Street.
According to police, the incident occurred on March 3 when Dinesh arrived at the apartment on a two-wheeler to deliver food and allegedly entered the premises without informing the guard stationed at the entrance.
This led to an argument between the two. During the confrontation, Dinesh allegedly assaulted Velmurugan. The injured guard was rushed to hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
Following an investigation, Tamil Nadu Police arrested the delivery executive. Police said further investigation into the incident is ongoing.
