WASHINGTON, D.C. — The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has released a list of high-profile arrests as part of President Trump’s initiative to restore public safety in the nation’s capital.
“President Trump was clear: he will make D.C. safe and beautiful again,” said a senior DHS official. “ICE and CBP are working daily to remove the worst criminal illegal aliens — including gang members, drug traffickers, child predators, and other violent offenders — from our streets.”
The department outlined a series of arrests made in Washington, D.C., featuring individuals with extensive criminal backgrounds and repeated immigration violations:
David Perez-Teofani (Mexico): Charged with aggravated sexual battery of a child under 13 and felony indecent liberties.
Wilker Patino-Solis (Venezuela): Tren de Aragua gang member; arrested for felony robbery, obstruction of justice, and possession of burglary tools.
Jose Candela-Bentura (Mexico): Removed from the U.S. 11 times.
Mario Marquez-Garcia (El Salvador): Eight prior immigration encounters; arrested for DUI, assault on police, robbery, and more.
Julio Martinez (Mexico): Arrested for assault, threats, and unlawful entry.
Marcos Garrido-Alvarado (Honduras): Arrested for DUI.
Erick Ayala Cruz (El Salvador): Multiple drug and robbery arrests; flagged for officer safety risk.
Darwin Lopez-Castanon (Guatemala): Deported multiple times; arrested for assault.
Jose Menjivar Gamez (El Salvador): Arrested for DUI.
Suraj Tairu (Nigeria): Convicted of heroin trafficking; six prior immigration encounters.
Carlos Garcia-Ramos (Guatemala): Arrested for DUI and disorderly conduct.
Diego Lopez-Vasquez (Guatemala): Arrested for DUI, assault, and probation violation.
Carlos Castro-Quinteros (El Salvador): Arrested for DUI and document fraud.
Rene Vargas-Salmeron (Mexico): Multiple assault convictions.
Omar Iraeta-Cubillas (Guatemala): Eight immigration encounters; falsely claimed multiple nationalities.
Erick Martinez-Figueroa (El Salvador): Arrested for DUI.
Guerveer Singh (India): Deemed Special Interest Alien; arrested for illegal presence.
Juan Garcia-Lopez (Guatemala): Convicted of illegal entry; arrested for assaulting an officer.
Marvin Martinez-Agueta (El Salvador): Convicted of illegal entry; five prior immigration encounters.
Jaime Navarette (El Salvador): Arrested for drug possession with intent to distribute.
DHS stated that the arrests are part of broader enforcement actions aimed at re-establishing law and order in areas plagued by violent crime.
“These individuals represent serious threats to public safety,” the DHS official added. “Their removal is critical to ensuring safe communities across the country, starting with our nation’s capital.”
