In a continued crackdown on drug trafficking, the Mulky police on Sunday arrested Dhanesh Kumar (35) of Boloor village for allegedly peddling narcotic substances. The arrest was made based on information received through a QR code–enabled public tip-off system, which has helped police intensify surveillance on drug networks in the region.
During the operation, police seized 1.16 kg of cannabis worth Rs25,000, along with Rs4,740 in cash, a mobile phone, a smoking device, and an electronic weighing machine from the accused.
A case has been registered under Sections 8(c) and 20(b)(ii)(B) of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, and further investigation is underway to identify his suppliers and potential accomplices.
