SANDUSKY, Ohio — A 29-year-old Ohio man will spend the rest of his life in prison after pleading guilty to the murder of a 3-year-old girl last year.
Devin S. O’Brien changed his plea to guilty on Monday in connection with the child’s death. Authorities have not released the victim’s name.
O’Brien was initially arrested in September 2024 after Sandusky Police responded to a report of a missing child from a home on Venice Road. Officers located the child deceased in the area.
An autopsy revealed the toddler died from strangulation, sustained blunt force trauma, and showed signs of sexual assault, according to Sandusky Police Chief Jared Oliver.
Under the terms of a plea deal, O’Brien will not be eligible for parole, and prosecutors will not pursue the death penalty.
