MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Three men were arrested during a traffic stop Saturday after Memphis police discovered over four pounds of marijuana and a stolen Memphis Police Department (MPD) firearm.

The driver, Deveon Stewart, 18, faces charges including possession of a firearm during a dangerous felony, theft of property, traffic violations, and possession of a controlled substance.

Passenger Edtavious Love, 19, was charged with unlawful weapon possession, possession of a firearm during a dangerous felony, and drug possession.

The front-seat passenger, Eric Danner, 18, faces charges for possession of a firearm during a dangerous felony, theft, and controlled substance possession.

Police initiated the stop after witnessing the vehicle disregard a stop sign and noticing excessively tinted windows. Upon stopping the vehicle, officers detected marijuana inside.

A search revealed a stolen AR-style rifle near Love’s seat, a stolen MPD-issued Glock handgun in the trunk, several bags of marijuana totaling 4.8 pounds, drug paraphernalia, and ammunition.

Stewart admitted to possession of the stolen Glock and drugs intended for sale. Danner admitted to possessing the AR-style rifle, while Love invoked his right to counsel.

The suspects and evidence were handed over to the Organized Crime Unit. Stewart and Love have bonds set at $40,000, with court appearances scheduled for July 22. Danner’s bond is $75,000, with a court date set for Wednesday.
