Detrick Green Arrested in Grimesland for Guns and Drugs

Faces multiple felony charges in Pitt County bust

GRIMESLAND, N.C. — Detrick Tavone Green, 51, was arrested Thursday morning following the execution of a search warrant at a Grimesland residence, according to the Pitt County Sheriff’s Office.

The operation, conducted on Jan. 8, involved the Narcotics Unit along with the Gang and Guns Unit, Major Crimes Unit, K-9 Unit, and Community Patrol Unit. Green was the target of a monthlong investigation into illegal drug sales in Pitt County.

Authorities said Green faces numerous charges, including:

Possession of a firearm by a convicted felon

Altering or removing a firearm serial number

Trafficking in cocaine

Felony possession of cocaine

Possession with intent to sell and deliver cocaine within 1,000 feet of a park

Possession with intent to sell and deliver a Schedule VI controlled substance

Felony possession of marijuana

Maintaining a dwelling for controlled substances

Possession of drug paraphernalia

Green was transported to the Pitt County Detention Center, where a magistrate found probable cause and ordered him held without bond pending his first appearance hearing.
