LYONS, NY — A Lyons woman was arrested late Monday night after an investigation revealed unauthorized access to a phone and fraudulent financial transactions.
Destiny D. Mantooth, 35, is facing charges of petit larceny and third-degree identity theft, according to a statement from the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies allege the incident took place earlier in the Town of Lyons, where Mantooth gained unauthorized access to an iPhone 13. She is accused of using the phone to complete two unauthorized transactions through the CashApp mobile payment service.
Mantooth was processed at the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office and later transported to the Wayne County Jail, where she awaits arraignment.
