COLUMBUS, Ga. — A significant drug bust resulted in the arrest of two suspects, Desmond Sams and Kiera Sams, after a multi-county investigation spanning Muscogee and Coweta counties.
The Muscogee County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) reported that a traffic stop on September 17 led to the seizure of 34 pounds of marijuana, with an estimated street value of $154,220. Following this, officers executed multiple search warrants across Muscogee County.
The operation culminated in the confiscation of a total of 72.4 pounds of marijuana, valued at approximately $328,400. Officials also seized two firearms, three vehicles, and $11,700 in cash linked to the suspects.
Desmond and Kiera Sams were charged with trafficking marijuana and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime. Both were transported to the Coweta County Jail without incident and await extradition back to Muscogee County.
The investigation is ongoing as law enforcement continues to probe into the case.
