Derrick Wyche Convicted of Assaulting 10-Year-Old Girl

NJ sex offender guilty in Bucks County case

by Sophia Bennett

A Bucks County jury has convicted Derrick Wyche, 58, a registered New Jersey sex offender, of indecently assaulting a 10-year-old girl in Morrisville Borough last year. On Dec. 3, 2025, Wyche was found guilty on felony counts of indecent assault of a person under 13 and corruption of minors. Sentencing will be scheduled at a later date.

The investigation began on Oct. 23, 2024, when the victim’s mother reported the abuse to Officer Amanda DeLuca at Morrisville Borough Police Headquarters. The assault reportedly occurred in September at the victim’s residence. A forensic interview at the Bucks County Children’s Advocacy Center revealed that Wyche grabbed the child’s hand and placed it inside his pants while she was lying on a couch, stopping only when someone approached. The child cried throughout the interview.

Wyche, already a registered sex offender in New Jersey, was subsequently detained there.
