Five people have been arrested following a break and enter at a house in St. Georges, Prince Edward Island. The incident occurred on Monday, with Kings District RCMP responding to the scene at approximately 1:45 p.m.. Upon arrival, police arrested five individuals in connection with the crime.
Officers seized a loaded long gun during the investigation and deployed a drone to search the area, ensuring no further suspects were involved.
Two of the accused, Derek James Buote and Holly Anne Hull, were held in custody and appeared in court for a remand hearing on Tuesday. Buote faces several charges, including break and enter into a dwelling house, possession of stolen property, and breach of probation. Hull has been charged with break and enter, possession of stolen property, unsafe storage of a firearm, and unauthorized possession of a firearm.
The remaining three individuals arrested in connection with the crime are scheduled to appear in court at a later date. Police continue their investigation into the break-in and other potential criminal activities.
This arrest underscores ongoing efforts by the RCMP to combat property crimes and illegal possession of firearms in the region.
